Preference Between Hyatt Ziva Cancun and Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach?

I found this YouTube video by Palm Leaf Travel to be interesting and informative in comparing two popular Hotel Zone all-inclusive properties which are family-friendly–Hyatt Ziva Cancun and Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun.  Both are located at the northeast corner of the “7” (Cancun’s Hotel Zone is literally shaped like the number 7) at Punta Cancun.

I walked around the Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun prior to its all-inclusive switchover in 2020.  I have to say that resort’s pool area was AWESOME.  It stretches along the resort’s beach seemingly forever and would definitely be a draw for me when considering where to stay in Cancun’s Hotel Zone with a family in tow.  The pools and beach at Hyatt Ziva are great, but I have to agree with the producers of this video that the seamlessness of the hotel/pool/beach experience at the Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun is superior to that of the Hyatt next door.

One thing that may also affect your choice is the Kid’s Club experience at both resorts.  Hyatt Ziva Cancun’s official age group for kids using the Club is 4-12, while the Grand Fiesta’s age group is 3-12.  The Hyatt does allow kids younger than age 4, but only during specified Family Time which, the last I knew, was 9-11 a.m., 1-2 p.m., and 4-5 p.m. only.  Parents must accompany kids younger than age 4 during Family Time (Family Time allows any parent of a kid attending the kidZ Club to be present at the Club).  The Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun, however, currently does not offer the same opportunity.  Who knows, this may change in the future, but right now it doesn’t appear to be the case.

Here’s the video; what do you think?  Which one would you choose for a family vacation if you had to pick one?
