Omni Cancun Rebranded

As of Nov. 1, 2022, the Omni Cancun will be called the Wyndham Grand Cancun.  The resort will reportedly change some things cosmetically, but the amenities will basically remain the same with 364 guest rooms and villas, seven restaurants, five bars, four pools, spa, gym, tennis courts, and kid’s club.  I hope they are not going to change the beach pool and bar with the swing seats, I’ve always thought this was Omni’s best amenity.  In case you don’t know, this resort is located in the southern section of Cancun’s Hotel Zone so that means a quick trip to and from the Cancun airport.

Wyndham has been very busy recently adding existing properties to their name brand.  Along with the start of the Alltra brand (affordable but higher quality family-friendly resorts), Wyndham has just partnered with Palladium Hotel Group and added over 6,500 rooms to its luxury resort Registry Collection.  That means TRS properties and Grand Palladium properties in Mexico have been or will shortly be added to Wyndham’s list of resorts (TRS Costa Mujeres will be rostered soon).

As far as I know, the Omni will not be closing for renovations during the transition.

What do you think?  Has your opinion about Wyndham resorts changed with their new business expansion?
