I have mixed feelings about rooftop suites. On one hand, they can be such a great way to get a bird’s eye view of the resort as well as an increased possibility of getting an ocean view even though one hasn’t booked something oceanfront. On the other hand, I would hesitate booking a rooftop suite during the height of summer because of the need to limit daytime use of the space–rooftop suites, unless they have great shade built into the rooftop area, can be incredibly hot during Mexico summers.
Here’s such an accommodation category to consider at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres–I think it’s a wonderful rooftop suite with lots of space both in the regular room as well as upstairs on the roof itself. Since the rooftop area lacks a shade structure, I would not book this room category during the months of June through mid October. Since this resort is family-friendly with an adults-only section, the suite with a true rooftop plunge pool is listed as “Elegance Club Plunge Pool Suite”; there is an additional option to book–“Elegance Club Plunge Pool Suite Oceanfront”. Elegance Club is the adults-only section (age 18+), but if you want a rooftop suite which is family-friendly check out the “Sky View Suite” which only has a smaller Jacuzzi, not a plunge pool on the edge.
Here’s a video of the Elegance Club upgraded suite as well as some shots of the resort in general. What do you think? Would you stay here? What do you think of rooftop suites?
