I’ve had several individuals send me emails asking questions about the beach at the brand new Hilton Tulum. I just found a new drone video which should answer most if not all of those questions.
If you watch the video at the end of this post you will see that there is a lot of ironshore rock along the coastline (bring water shoes to this beach resort). However, there are a few ocean water entry areas which not only don’t have the ironshore rock but also have less sargassum; these areas seem to be located more towards the main pools by the lobby area. It seems obvious from the video that the resort has attempted to build some sort of offshore barrier to stop the sargassum (and stop beach erosion) by the family resort section, but the sargassum still gets through–the dark brown water areas are sargassum-filled water.
Here’s the video–in all fairness, the sargassum situation can change every day depending on general currents and whether storm activity has brought a lot of sargassum to beach areas. If you are looking at overall ability to enter the ocean, this resort has limitations because of beach ironshore rock formations.
What do you think? Would you stay at this new family-friendly resort?
