I recently posted about the all-inclusive resorts closest to Tulum and Playa del Carmen. Here’s a closer look at one of them within easy walking distance to Playa del Carmen’s famous 5th Ave.–the family-friendly re-branded resort called Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen.
Playa Resorts took the resort over from its Panama Jack’s rebranding, and before Panama Jack’s ownership it used to be a Gran Caribe resort. Quite an adventure of ownership, but it looks like this one might be here to stay. Wyndham’s “Alltra” resorts are meant to provide a luxury all-inclusive resort experience for everyone at a more affordable price. Quite a goal, but looks like their goal was achieved with this property’s ownership.
This resort is close to the Cozumel ferry and within easy walking distance to the 5th Ave. entrance. It offers 287 rooms (many with ocean view), 5 restaurants, a pizzeria, self-serve snack area, coffee shop, two pools, and 3 bars including a swim-up bar at the lesser pool which is located on the 3rd floor–if you visit this property, don’t forget to check out this smaller area, it does have a pool, bar, and a great place to have afternoon sushi.
This video is done by “Coolist” (James) who does a good job in filming and reviewing various all-inclusive properties. The video below highlights his review of this Wyndham property. Take a look and tell me what you think–would you book this Playa del Carmen resort?
