The new family-friendly, luxury all-inclusive optional resort, Garza Blanca Resort and Spa Cancun, is about to celebrate its Grand Opening next month. This Playa Mujeres property, which is located just south of its sister resort, Villa del Palmar, had its “soft opening” last December with the availability of only 162 suites and several of its restaurants and pools. Starting next month, all the following amenities should be available:
- 452 suites ranging from Jr. Suites with Tropical VIew to 4-Bedroom Penthouse Suites which can sleep up to 12 guests
- 4 a la carte restaurants and a “gourmet food hall” (sounds like a glorified buffet), a snack place, and food truck (resort “food trucks” typically specialize in just a few food choices and are located in high frequented areas like poolside, etc.). I believe this one specializes in seafood.
- 6 pools including a kid’s pool and adults-only rooftop pool (swim-up suite pools are typically included in pool counts)
- 3 Jacuzzis
- Kid’s Club
- gym and spa
- access to its sister resort, Villa del Palmar (there is a connecting walkway between the two resorts)
It’s interesting that this resort has been in a “soft opening” for a year which is highly unusual. The Grand Opening was originally scheduled for Oct. but got delayed until December. I haven’t found a specific date in Dec. which leads me to guess that there may be the possibility that the resort may not be completely ready to open everything at that time…We shall see.
If you are interested in booking this resort, make sure to book the all-inclusive option otherwise you will get room-only rates. There’s a great website sale going on right now: you can potentially get $2,000 USD off rack rate for off-season 7-night stays. I’m tempted…
Here’s a video giving you an idea of what the rooms and some of the public spaces look like at this resort. What do you think? Would you stay here?
