Just in case you haven’t been following the saga about this resort, Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun recently opened its doors a couple of weeks ago. This property used to be a Karisma Azul resort, then after a Jacuzzi fatality Karisma sold it to Tafer, then Tafer sold it to Iberostar. Complicated but it looks like Iberostar wants this to be a keeper.
This resort is family-friendly with 444 suites, all suites have a Jacuzzi whether it is indoor or outdoor. It also has 5 pools, 6 restaurants, and 4 bars, plus a spa, gym, and children’s club for ages 4-17. Family rooms are available in several different types of categories (pool accessibility, etc.); most of these room types have a separate sleeping area for kids so there is some sense of privacy for everybody.
Take a look at the video below done by Destinations Travel; it shows what is open and what is supposed to be open at this time in terms of amenities. I’m not exactly a fan of the AI generated monologue, but the video shows what the resort now looks like.
