Fairmont Mayakoba Offers An All-Inclusive Optional Meal Plan…

For those who do not already know, the luxury Mayakoba complex in the Riviera Maya consists of several well-regarded resorts–the Andaz, Banyan Tree, Rosewood, and the Fairmont.  While Rosewood and the Banyan do not offer all-inclusive packages, both the Andaz and the Fairmont DO offer all-inclusive packages.  Well, they are sort of all-inclusive packages, but read on to determine whether or not they are all-inclusive enough to be worthwhile for a stay.

I’ve already posted about the all-inclusive plan at Andaz, but here’s what the same plan will get you at the Fairmont.

  • Accommodation–this resort has some awesome rooms, suites, and casitas so expect the price point in general to be higher at this resort complex location.
  • Access to on-site pools and beach area (those not staying in the Bamboo guest room building do not have access to their rooftop pool)
  • Access to the following restaurants and bars–Hix-Bar, Tauro, La Laguna, Cantina Esmeralda, Bassano, Cafe Maya, Brisas for lunch and dinner only, Fuego, Aqua, Cielo, Ki-Beach Bar daytime only.
  • Wines and liquors by the glass are included, but bottles of wine and liquor are not.  Also, if you order champagne and not sparkling wine, you will be charged for that as well as upgraded food items like lobster.
  • Food and beverage service charges are included (after each order of food or drink you will be presented with a bill to sign; while food and beverage service charges are included you can add a tip on the bill if you wish and that will be added to your room charges).
  • Room mini-bar
  • Access to non-motorized water sports

Room service, the last I read, had a service charge and delivery fee, so that amenity is not exactly all-inclusive.  The individual food items are not charged, however.

Here’s what’s NOT included:

  • As already mentioned, wines and liquor by the bottle are not included.
  • Breakfast at Brisas is not included unless you are staying in a beach area or beachfront room category, Presidential Suite, or other specialty suites.  You can always decide to eat breakfast at Brisas, but the best you can do is get a 50% discount on the total bill there if not staying in one of these types of suites.
  • Here’s the restaurants you CANNOT eat at without an extra charge besides breakfast at Brisas–Gaia, El Pueblito, El Camaleon, and Korean BBQ.
  • Motorized water sports or excursions.

If interested, this resort actually lists the type of beers and liquor they serve which is included in the all-inclusive, click here if you want to take a look (keep scrolling down to get the English version).

Below is a short video of what the Fairmont looks like; what do you think?  Have you stayed here before or stayed here with the all-inclusive meal plan?  Leave your comments below!
