This is just an FYI blog post, some or many of you may already know about it but I thought I would post the info for those who don’t have a clue (like myself) that this ability exists.

While finalizing my April 2022 travel plans, I found out that Blue Diamond resorts gives you the ability to choose your room right after you get your confirmation for an online website booking.  From looking at online wholesalers, I discovered that Planet Hollywood Cancun Adult Scene was getting very full for my dates of travel and decided to book via the resort website.  (From my own resort travel experience, I’ve discovered that you are more likely to get what you’ve booked–or even a complimentary upgrade–if you book via the resort website when a specific room category gets oversold).  Right after I received my confirmation I was notified I could book my room location, also via the resort website, so I checked it out.  The catch is you have to pay an additional $60 for the ability to make your personal choice, but for me it was worth it–I wound up with a beachfront swim-up suite on the end of the Star Class building just steps from the party pool.  An awesome way to end a vacation!
