Cancun’s Omni Hotel Great for Large Families

And now for this week’s suite review.  Well, it’s not technically labeled as a suite, it’s a three-bedroom villa, and it’s located in Cancun’s Hotel Zone at the Omni.  The Omni used to be an all-inclusive optional resort which explains the kitchen appliances in the villas.  It is now on the all-inclusive dining plan and can be a great resort choice for larger families or groups of friends traveling together.

The Omni offers 347 guest rooms and villas with several terraced pools and a beachfront Jacuzzi bar with both swing seats and in-Jacuzzi seating (check and see whether this beachfront bar still serves drinks in coconuts/pineapples around noon each day).  The resort added a sushi bar and offers six restaurants, two swim-up bars (including the beachfront Jacuzzi bar), pool bar, and a lobby bar which is open until 1 a.m.  There is 24-hr. room service, but a $5 USD delivery service charge is added to your bill for every order.  Complimentary WiFi is only for “Select Guest” members (Omni Hotel loyalty program); if you’re not one already, just go to the Omni website and join for free.

Villas are the closest guest rooms to the beach, so it is relatively easy to roll out of bed, have a quick breakfast at Pina Colada, and claim a beach lounger for the day.  Villas have a total of 2,000 sq. feet and are spread out on three floors with the topmost bedroom typically having an ocean view.  There is bathroom access on each floor and a full kitchen with large refrigerator, kitchen table and six chairs, and a living room area with a large sofa on the ground floor.  Villas also include a rooftop seating area.

Take a look at the video below; it starts out slow with a prolonged shot of an ocean view, but the videographer eventually moves inside to show what the villa interior looks like.
