Surprise!  If you like swim-up rooms and mega-resorts, Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal is finishing their new swim-up room category–Jr. Suite Deluxe Swim-Up.  It doesn’t appear as if these extremely limited number of rooms will be oceanfront, but since they are not bookable yet it’s difficult to ascertain where their exact location will be.  If you want to see pics or video, you can find them at both the resort website under this room category, or you can find a short video in Instagram–just type in bahiaprincipehotels on Instagram’s search bar and the video should be one of the newer posts.

The new swim-up room category is not the only resort change, there is also another room category that is almost done with its refurbishments but is not bookable yet.  This room category is the Jr. Suite Premium category; again, you can see the room interior on Instagram under bahiaprincipehotels.

Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal has 758 rooms, 7 restaurants, 9 bars, 3 pools, and an adults-only section.  It is part of a mega-resort complex which consists of Bahia Principe Luxury Sian Ka’an (adults-only but it’s inland, not on the beach), the Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal (the one I’m posting about), Bahia Principe Grand Tulum (on the beach), and Bahia Principe Grand Coba (family-friendly but not right on the beach).  It’s a very large and spread out mega-resort, but any one of these resorts can be a great bargain since they are all priced fairly well (I would consider most of them to be in a low budget category).  It is not a 5* resort, but the price reflects that.

I’m not sure when these rooms will become available, but I will post the info when I become aware of it.  If anyone knows this detail or where these rooms will be located please let us all know…
