Sometimes I wish I worked at a travel agency and was “in the know” about all things travel. (Well, I did work at a travel agency in my other much younger life but that was AAA in the auto travel dept., and that doesn’t necessarily equate to knowing all things travel…but I CAN say I still know how to read a map upside down as well as all direct and scenic routes from point A to point B in the US and Canada…lol). I find some of the info I blog about just by being curious and researching the subject matter which leads me to this current blog post–did you know there is another Secrets Impression being built but it is on the island of Isla Mujeres off the coast of Cancun’s Hotel Zone???!!  When I found the video on YouTube about this resort I thought it was an error and that they really meant Secrets Impression Moxche–until I Googled it and found out this Secrets Impression on Isla Mujeres is scheduled to open Dec. 1, 2022.

Here’s the initial scoop on the OTHER new Secrets Impression resort:

• Secrets Impression Isla Mujeres will be the third AMR Collection Impression resort within a resort–the first was at Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita, the second is being finished and currently scheduled to open Oct. 1, 2022 (Secrets Impression Moxche), and now this third option, Secrets Impression Isla Mujeres.  The Isla Mujeres upgrade will be the second Secrets Impression resort within a resort.
• There is supposed to be a private ferry which will depart from Dreams Vista (north of downtown Cancun) and travel directly to the resort.  You never know how these details will work out–that means the new resort will have to build a pier, or the other option would be to use the existing ferry terminal on the island and bus customers to the resort.  We will see how that pans out.
• It will be a smaller resort–not surprising since Isla Mujeres is a rather small island with lots of its premier property already occupied.  There will be 125 suites.
• It’s supposed to have four tiered infinity pools–one is slated to have a water slide which leads from a pool area to the ocean.  How cool is that?  I’d book the resort just to check out that new amenity…
• Dining options include a buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, a poolside grill, three a la cartes (steakhouse, Mediterranean, and Pan-Asian cuisine), a rooftop tapas bar and restaurant which will serve tapas during the day and an a la carte menu during the evening, a coffee shop, and seven bars including a swim-up bar.  Oh yes, and a wine cellar for private dining experiences.
• There will be an on-site spa and gym
• Get this, the resort is supposed to have an over-water “cinema club” which looks like a comfortable place to watch movies in the evening.  I don’t see any mention of a theater for evening performances, so this may take its place.
• golf cart and bicycle use for exploring the island
• housekeeping service three times a day and the mini-bar refreshed twice daily
• 24-hr. concierge service

What do you think?  Looks very appealing.  One Impression resort at a time, though, I am going to Secrets Moxche in Oct. so this one will have to wait until next year for a visit from me.  That is if I can afford it…
