This has certainly been a long time coming…Kimpton Tres Rios Riviera Maya has opened reservations starting Sept 22, 2026 in the resort brand’s first venture into the all-inclusive market.
You may not know the Kimpton brand and where this resort is located, but if you are familiar with Hacienda Tres Rios they are now one and the same property after a major renovation and rebranding. The resort is located within Tres Rios Eco Park which is a 326 acre nature reserve which encompasses three ecosystems–jungle, mangrove forests, and coastal sand dunes with three freshwater rivers that flow into the Caribbean Sea. If you are into doing lots of nature-related activities during your vacation you will most likely love it here since guests can swim in onsite cenotes, go kayaking along the river system, and go hiking and biking along the designated trail system within the eco park.
Where is this marvel you may ask? It’s located by Fairmont Mayakoba north of Playa del Carmen. What is the Kimpton brand known for you may also ask? While it initially began focusing on boutique properties, they have branched out into larger properties, especially now with the 355 guest room Tres Rios resort, with unique architecture and decor which reflects the local culture, an emphasis on social perks, pet-friendly policies, and quality food. This particular property also includes the following:
- 7 restaurants
- 5 bars
- 4 pools
- spa and gym
- adults-only section
- swim-up suites, some which are supposed to be connected to the main pool
- the Forget It? We’ve Got It! program (if you forget to bring personal items you can have access to some via the resort–toothbrushes, chargers, adapters, curling irons, hair bands (!?), and apparel tape to name just a few, and access to travel comfort accessories like humidifiers–excuse me but I was wondering if I could borrow a humidifier since it did not fit in my suitcase, lol). But seriously, being able to borrow an adapter or charger could be a vacation saver to someone out there.
