FYI: As of 11/16/24, Marriott has listed the projected opening timeline to be Jan. 2025; however, I was unable to make a booking in either Jan. or Feb. 2025, so it may be after Jan. 2025 before the resort reopens.
Zoëtry Paraiso de la Bonita, a much loved family-friendly luxury boutique all-inclusive resort, closed its doors Dec. 2023 and will not reopen them until sometime “during the end of 2024” due to an extensive renovation. The resort is leaving the management of Hyatt and joining Marriott’s Luxury Collection.
When the resort does reopen it will be called Paraiso de la Bonita and include the following:
- 100 oceanfront suites
- 22,000 sq. foot spa
- 3 restaurants (one has a 5,000 bottle wine cellar), and one will be a ceviche restaurant
Of course the Impression suites will be no more because the Impression suite name belongs to Hyatt, but I imagine they will be very expensive and much in demand. The spa was always a centerpiece of the resort with its heated oceanfront pool and it’s slated to be completely redone. I wonder if Marriott will do anything about the beach since that was the resort’s Achilles’ heel, we shall see.
