I always like to know more about the resorts at which I will be staying prior to my arrival…it’s part of the fun and anticipation of a resort stay! Plus I don’t want to miss anything important I should be experiencing when I do arrive.
Some things I research have nothing specific to do with my stay, but are still interesting to know anyway. Such is this blog article about the Romance Villas with Private Pool at the luxury adults-only resort I will be staying at this summer called JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar. I will be staying in an Oceanfront Butler Service suite, but the villas I thought were an interesting suite category that other vacationers might want to know more about, especially when considering resorts with special rooms for special occasions.
The Romance Villas are located in a more isolated and secluded area on the southernmost edge of the resort. They are closer to the beach and main pool and actually quite a distance from the lobby area where many primary amenities are located. This room category is supposed to include private transport within the resort complex, so it should be fairly easy to contact your concierge or butler to request resort shuttle service.
From what I can tell, there are 10 Villa buildings–two villas p/building (for those of you in the know, please inform me if this is incorrect) situated next to one another in this secluded garden area. Each Villa is very large with over 2,000+ sq. feet–massive bathroom areas and your own private pool (not heated, however) with a privacy wall and comfortable seating area. Speaking of bathrooms, there are some vacationers that make decisions about where to stay based solely on two factors–does the resort have a swim-up bar and do rooms have complete bathroom privacy (don’t worry, my book has a separate section on each resort which includes these pieces of information so you know what to expect when deciding on where to stay). The Villas, as the video below shows, have a privacy bathroom door from the bedroom/living room area, but there is a portion of the bathroom which is not so private–you will see what I mean by watching the video.
With your Villa comes several extra amenities including the use of bicycles which are parked outside the main entrance to each Villa building, in-room check-in with your butler who helps you customize Villa amenities such as mini-bar items, A/C temp, etc., pillow menu, beach bag with towels, sandals for use while a guest, and and there are smaller bottles of in-room wine and tequila upon arrival (check with your butler whether these can be replaced for free or if there would be an extra $). General resort amenities automatically included with this room category are free WiFi, robes, 24-hr. free room service, complimentary use of the on-site spa’s hydrotherapy circuit and heated indoor pool, and turndown service.
Sounds like a great option for those looking to stay at a luxury adults-only resort and want lots of room space, your own pool, and lots of privacy. Watch the video below done by Alain Grandemange–this couple has been staying at this resort for many years in a row during the same time frame (Christmas/New Years season), so they are resort experts on this property. There’s lots of commentary throughout, but after all they are the experts when it comes to this property. If you want to get right to the Villa shots, start watching at 19:31. If you want to get an idea of how long the golf cart ride is from the lobby to the Villa section, start watching at 13:50. The end of the video is the couple stating whether or not they think this room category is worth your booking option. What’s your opinion? Would you book this Villa category?
See you in Cancun!
