Want to get away to an exclusive boutique resort in a jungle setting?  How about adding a beautiful private villa with its own plunge pool and outdoor shower in the mix?  If this sounds like your kind of vacation, then the Viceroy Riviera Maya may be the resort for you.

The Viceroy is an adults-only resort with only 41 villas, each offering outdoor privacy and outstanding amenities.  Since the resort is small, it only has two restaurants–a bar and grill and the dinner restaurant.  The resort offers various culinary activities during the day including guacamole making, tequila and ceviche tastings, mezcal and taco tastings, tamale cooking lessons, and learning the basics of Mayan cuisine.  There is a beachfront bar with a wonderful ocean view, a small(ish) pool with poolside cabanas, a pier with overwater hammocks, and a full-service spa specializing in Mayan treatments. The oceanfront fitness center holds yoga classes, meditation programs, and circuit trainings.  There is even a soap concierge who will visit your villa after check-in so that you can choose your own piece of hand-made artisanal soap.

But what’s truly amazing is that there are seven different varieties of villas; some are beachfront, others are in the jungle, and one villa category consists of two floors with 2,900 sq. feet of living space.
