For those of you thinking of staying at Secrets Playa Mujeres in 2024, be aware that Hyatt has cancelled the planned renovations for this year.

I got this info by calling Secrets, so this is the latest news on that topic.  I asked if the resort was planning on doing renovations in 2025, but Hyatt has not passed along that info yet to resort reps.  So, go ahead and plan your vacay to this resort!  I visited this resort several years ago while staying at Dreams Playa Mujeres (which is the family-friendly resort immediately adjacent to this Secrets resort), and the beachfront pool was awesome, it offered a poolside lunch BBQ along with a regular poolside restaurant, several small Jacuzzis interspersed among the pool seating areas–it was a very pleasant way to spend the day and adults guests can walk back and forth between these two resorts!  Stay at 1 play at 2!
