For those parents looking for an affordable all-inclusive option while vacationing with very young ones, check out Seadust Cancun in Cancun’s Hotel Zone. It’s located on the Caribbean Sea side by Iberostar Selection Cancun approximately 15-20 min. north of the Cancun airport. This resort often advertises offers of kids staying free…
Seadust Cancun offers 505 guest rooms, three pools, 10 restaurants, 9 bars, a gym, spa, and water park; there used to be an on-site casino, but presently the resort is not advertising it on their website. It’s fairly common for resorts in this part of Mexico to have “on and off” casinos which temporarily close due to various issues–ask at check-in whether it is currently up and running.
The resort offers a Baby Club for children ages 18 mos. to 4 yrs. I would call it a toddler club–there aren’t any opportunities to drop off children younger than 18 mos. For those children meeting the age requirements, here are the amenities offered in the Baby Club:
- hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., open again from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- age appropriate soft toys
- cribs for napping
- baby pool
- structured activities like magic story time and coloring time
- there may be a time limit for the youngest children–I’ve read some parents were told 2 hrs. at a time max if leaving your toddler
While the resort provides cribs upon request, family rooms at the resort offer bunk beds which also speaks more to the resort’s ability to cater more to older children.
Expect a cruise ship feel to this resort. If you don’t like the cruise look, you might want to find another baby-friendly place to spend your vacation.
Below is a video about the resort in general…if you are only interested in the child-friendly amenities go ahead in the video to 6:13.
