This Marriott resort used to be called CasaMagna and it was an all-inclusive optional resort.  It has been closed since March 2023, and it recently opened as an all-inclusive resort fully renovated from top to bottom.  Not only is everything redone, but the resort added a small children’s water park area complete with a lazy river.  Marriott Cancun is family-friendly and right on a beautiful beach in Cancun’s Hotel Zone.

Currently, not all restaurants are open, and some amenities are not completed.  That is not unusual in the world of all-inclusive resorts in this part of Mexico, unfortunately.  Here’s what I know is NOT finished as of March 24, 2024:

• Children’s water park area including the lazy river
• Kid’s Club
• spa and gym (I imagine you could use those facilities next door at JW Marriott until this resort’s facilities are open)
• Mo’s Burgers and Shakes restaurant.  My understanding is that completing and opening all restaurants is a priority right now; all restaurants should be open soon and fully functional.
• Some areas on the south side of the resort are not open, so there may be “detours” or slight inconveniences for guests who need access to this area or are staying in this area.

I’m definitely interested in checking out this resort, but I can’t imagine bringing a family with all the children’s amenities not yet completed.  Give the resort about 3 mos. to get its act together for a full Marriott experience!
