Part II–Second Resort Choice For Final 2025 Cancun Trip…

I posted yesterday that I was seriously thinking about a final Cancun trip for 2025 in order to recalibrate myself from a year filled with major life decisions.  While it has been a period of intense personal growth, it has been emotionally draining and will continue to be so for awhile, so I thought a trip to Cancun was in order (when is it not…)

If you read my first post from yesterday, you know my first resort choice (due to a more limited budget this time around since this would be my third trip here this year) is Emporio Cancun.  The second resort I plan on staying at is Hotel NYX Cancun, a more boutique-style resort with only 196 guest rooms.  The architecture intrigues me, it looks kind of hodgepodge (as if it were put together in sections over time) but lovely in a different kind of way.  This resort looks like it could get crowded around various resort areas, so it may be worth my while to rent a cabana for this part of my stay, that way I won’t have to participate in the much dreaded “chair hogging competition” where I would have to get up at 6 a.m. just to put a book on a chair hoping it would still be there several hrs. later when I returned.

Since I currently live on the west coast of the US, I like to stay at several resorts when I travel to Cancun just because it takes a chunk of time just to fly there and back–that way I make the most of my time in Cancun and am also much less likely to get bored.  So after much thought, I think I would first stay at Hotel NYX Cancun and then stay at the Emporio; the NYX looks like it’s a 3 or 3.5 star property, while the Emporio looks like a solid 4 star.  If you are going to stay at several different resorts, always start out with the less desirable or cheapest property in order to leave Cancun on a high note.  I learned this lesson when I did a vacay to Egypt, Greece, and Turkey years ago–never visit Egypt before Greece unless you want to see sites like the Parthenon and go “nehhh”.  This resort choice order is kind of like that only on much less of a scale.

Below is a short video highlighting the NYX done by Touring With Tiff.  What do you think?  Will this resort stay fit the bill for a more budget-friendly vacay?  Let me know in the comments below.
