The previous Omni Cancun has now switched over to Wyndham Grand Cancun and Villas.  There was no major disruption in the change, so there should be no surprises.  It is a family-friendly all-inclusive resort with the following amenities:

• 346 rooms, suites, and villas (the villas are the multiple bedroom, multiple floor buildings nearest to the beach)
• three pools
• five restaurants (Rodizio, Italian, and seafood a la cartes plus a buffet; a casual restaurant where you can get Mexican fare until 5 p.m., a deli cafe, and they’ve chosen to keep the sushi stand)
• room service is 24-7 but there will be a delivery fee
• three bars (I don’t think there is a standard swim-up bar here; instead there is a large beachfront Jacuzzi which includes a bar)
• business center and conference facilities
• on-site wedding chapel
• spa, gym, and tennis facilities are all on-site
• children’s pool plus a Kid’s Club

This resort has always been a great option for larger families or groups of individuals traveling together since the beachfront villas have multiple bedrooms.  I’m looking forward to seeing the cosmetic facelift that has reportedly been done to this resort–there are 120 pics on the resort website so you may want to check those out.
