I stayed at this adults-only all-inclusive in Aug. 2020 (in an Inspira swimout suite) and found this resort to be one of the best for discerning vacationers looking for a beautiful upscale resort with very good food, comfortable rooms with space to spare, and an outstanding lobby bar.
This post will focus on one of the rooftop suites at Atelier Playa Mujeres. Atelier offers three different rooftop suite categories–the Rooftop Suite, the Party Suite, and the Master Suite. For approximately a year now, all rooftop suite categories are only offered as an Inspira upgrade. That means guests will be paying a LOT more with the upgrade since they increased their pricing, but I did the upgrade (when it was cheaper) and found it to include many amenities which added to the enjoyment of my stay.
Here’s the Inspira amenities:
- private check-in; the Inspira Lounge offers appetizers (small bites) and has its own bar, while the ability to text the Inspira concierge for whatever you may want was exceptional in terms of customer service and response times.
- daytime access to the 5th floor rooftop pool (this area is located in the lobby building). The rooftop pool area has its own bar, lots of seating options, a heated infinity pool with a resort/golf course/ocean view, and snacks. It’s a great way to spend some time if you don’t want to deal with the more noisy and busy main pool area.
- in-room liquor. When I stayed at the resort, the in-room liquor contained not one but two small bottles of Mezcal (I don’t care for it), so I’m glad to see from the video the resort has modified its offering to include rum, whiskey, vodka, and regular tequila. Guest will also get a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine plus chocolate dipped fruits in their room.
- other room amenities include a pillow and aromatherapy menu as well as an upgraded mini-bar and room service menu
- complimentary dinner at the gourmet restaurant, Maria Dolores, with a stay of four nights or more. Guests staying less than four nights get a discount at the restaurant.
- one complimentary hydrotherapy circuit session at the spa
- private beach section with many Bali beds available (no private beach bar, though)
- golfers get two complimentary rounds of golf (no greens fees, but guests will still have to pay for any rentals) if staying a week or more. The golf course is right next door, so to speak–you can see part of it if you have an upper floor room looking out over the resort.
- you can have the resort make up a box of food-to-go if you are going on an excursion or spending time exploring Cancun or the Riviera Maya.
- if interested, you can spend time over at Estudio Playa Mujeres at their rooftop terrace; this was not available during my stay, but according to the website, it’s supposed to be above the Doodle Camp area for kids (let me know more about this if you’ve visited this particular resort area).
- various resort discounts–spa treatments, beauty salon, rounds of golf for those staying less than a week, XBox and PlayStation rentals, room service special charges, and resort stores discounts.
Inspira Rooftop Suites have the typical Jr. Suite look to them only with an added floor:
- very large bathroom can either be open to the room or closed off with the barn style sliding panels
- double sinks, soaking tub, separate marble shower with rainforest showerhead
- circular staircase leading up to the rooftop area
- rooftop area has a very large daybed with a built-in shade structure (that means the area can be used more frequently during hotter months), a large Jacuzzi with resort/golf course/ocean views, two padded regular loungers, an outdoor shower, and a half bathroom with a toilet and sink. The amount of space on the rooftop terrace is insane–you could host a party up there.
Here’s a video on this resort; what do you think? Would you book this suite?
