New Palace Resorts Health and Safety Measures

Palace Resorts has posted their new health and safety rules for guests and staff.  It appears to be very comprehensive; I wonder whether other resorts will follow suit or adopt some of these measures.

Here are some of the more relevant measures for guests:

  • no buffets
  • swimup bars will be closed
  • number of people in elevators will be limited (I don’t know how this will play out since one typically cannot stand six feet apart within a typical elevator)–long waits for elevators?
  • social distancing enforced while waiting in lines
  • nightclubs, bars, kid’s clubs, and fitness centers will have a maximum guest capacity
  • show attendees will be seated with respect to social distancing
  • indoor/outdoor soft furnishings will be placed with respect to social distancing–does that mean there will be less pool and beach loungers which makes them harder to acquire?
  • incoming guest luggage will be disinfected
  • guests are encouraged to do more things with their online app–look at menus, online check-in, etc.
  • all guests will be asked to sign a declaration of health

There are many other measures, most of which address what will be required of resort employees. If you want to read more, check out this link.
