I posted an article about this water park a couple of years ago, then COVID hit and everything shut down in Mexico and elsewhere. Well, Jungala is up and running and ready to welcome guests at this awesome water park!
Jungala is located on the resort property of Vidanta Riviera Maya, a mega-resort consisting of six different resorts. Unfortunately, Vidanta is NOT an all-inclusive, but that actually makes it easier to visit two of the Riviera Maya’s more popular tourist destinations at Vidanta resort, Cirque du Soleil’s JOYA, and the newer Jungala water park. Jungala is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; general admission prices are $70 USD p/adult, $35 USD for seniors, pregnant women, and children who range from three to four feet tall. (Children under three feet tall are free).
Vidanta is very close to Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya resort north of Playa del Carmen. Park or get dropped off at the parking lot for Cirque du Soleil JOYA, then wait for the “train shuttle” to take you to the water park entrance. You can buy your tickets in advance, or risk getting a day pass when you reach the water park entrance (the water park only sells a certain number of day passes p/day so as to avoid overcrowding, an aspect especially important during COVID).
Here’s what the water park has to offer:
- lengthiest lazy river in Latin America
- wave pool
- four water slides
- kid’s water slides and splash park area
- private cabanas–you can rent one just for cabana use ($60 USD), or get a cabana with food and drink packages.
- the day pass does not include food or drinks, but there are snack areas as well as a poolside restaurant plus bars. If you like frozen smoothies you are in luck because Jungala offers them as well.
- an on-site spa which offers massages, facials, body wraps, reflexology, and specific spa treatments for children and teens.
So, if you are looking for something more thrilling to do while on vacation and your resort offers no water park or only slides for children, check out Jungala. Below are a couple of short videos–one which shows more of the water park’s amenities, and one which focuses on the water slides.
Looks like fun! Who’s going with me?
