I typically post about all-inclusive resorts that have opened or about to open, but just thought I’d give readers a heads up on the status of the new Margaritaville St. Somewhere by Karisma opening up March 1, 2022 on Holbox.

Sadly, it’s not an all-inclusive and is not yet offering an optional all-inclusive plan (this is very unusual with the popular all-inclusive resort chain, Karisma, managing the property–must have something to do with the contract between Karisma and Jimmy Buffett with his new all-inclusive resorts).  But I will keep my eyes open and go back and check periodically to see if or when they will be offering such a meal plan.  Right now it’s only offering a European meal plan, but the resort looks beautiful and hey, it’s on Isla Holbox which reminds me of how old Mexico with its fishing villages may have appeared.  For those of you who have little or no idea of what I’m talking about, click this link to get a better idea of what the island has to offer vacationers.

This new property is a boutique resort with only 39 suites, two restaurants, one bar, and one pool, plus the resort is beachfront.  You will have to either spend a lot to fly there, or travel quite a bit to get there–a 3 hr. ride to get to Chiquila from the Cancun airport, then take a 40 min. ferry over to the island.  Only bicycles and golf carts are allowed on the island, so plan on leaving any cars behind in Chiquila.
