This new Riu resort is on my list for my May 2026 trip–Hotel Riu Ventura just opened a couple of weeks ago and already hit 75% occupancy rate prior to high season Christmas stays, so you can be sure that this one is a highly desired family-friendly property.  That kind of occupancy rate is almost unheard of in the all-inclusive resort market for soft openings (the first 3 months it’s opened).

Below is a drone video done by Stella in Paradise.  Drone videos are great because they can give you an idea of the general layout of the resort and how exterior amenities flow.  I especially love the oceanfront swim-ups and how close they are to the water at Riu Ventura, so now I have my preferred room choice in mind.  Notice how all the swim-ups here are elevated onto higher floors, so at least this room category can give you good views which is unlike most swim-up room categories which are typically located on the ground floor (the other two exceptions I’ve experienced have been at Dreams Playa Mujeres in their Master Suite and the 4th floor swim-ups at Atelier Playa Mujeres–the other great one is the Serenity Oceanfront Swim-ups at Haven Riviera Cancun because they are on the ground floor but elevated enough to have great ocean views).
