I Forgot About Ocean Riviera Paradise…

Since I try and provide information on so many all-inclusive resorts in Cancun and the Riviera Maya, sometimes I forget that several even exist.  It’s not that they are not a good resort, they just fall off my radar from time-to-time.

Take Ocean Riviera Paradise an H10 Hotel, for example.  It’s a family-friendly all-inclusive resort located just south of Platinum Yucatan Princess and north of Playa del Carmen (I stayed at Platinum Yucatan Princess in Oct. 2022).  It offers 974 rooms and suites (just shy of a mega-resort), and has several different guest room building sections including the following:

  • Eden–the most beachfront section at this resort.  Some upper floor suites have ocean views.
  • Privilege–the most upgraded resort section, but it is less beachfront than Eden.
  • El Beso–adults-only section.
  • Daisy–family-friendly section with an extensive water park.

If you can afford it, splurge on the rooftop suites at this resort, they are well worth the cost with an expansive rooftop area, lots of furniture, plus a rooftop Jacuzzi with views.

Why is this resort worth mentioning?  It has several amenities not offered at many other resorts such as an on-site casino, a batting cage, and a bowling alley!! Yah, you read that right, a bowling alley.  The only other bowling alley I’ve run into at a resort was at Barcelo Maya Caribe in the mall section of the resort (Strikers!).  I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for bowling since I grew up in a small MN town where the highlight of things to do was visiting the bowling alley, I even had my own bowling ball at one point…so needless to say I would certainly be signing up for this activity at this resort for nostalgia sake.  If bowling here is anything like bowling at the Barcelo, there may be an extra charge.

This resort also offers 10 restaurants, 11 bars, 5 pools (a beachfront pool plus one for every guest room building section), a coffee shop, sports bar, theater, and nightclub.

Just a couple of other items to note about Ocean Riviera Paradise–there is a separate website if you are considering staying at the adults-only El Beso section, and upgraded adult Privilege guests can visit the El Beso section at no extra charge.  There should be pool foam parties at both the El Beso and Eden pools.

Why is this resort now on my radar?  I contemplated staying here for my upcoming March 2023 trip since it has so much to offer vacationers; unfortunately, it will have to wait until my next Mexico trip since I decided to replace it with Catalonia Royal Tulum–I stayed at this Catalonia several years ago in August but the sargassum was so bad that time of year no one could enter the ocean.  I am going back for the beach this time since Xpu-Ha beach is one of the most beautiful in this area of Mexico.

Here’s a drone video of the resort; note that this resort is built mostly perpendicular to the ocean which means it can be a walk from the lobby to the beach.  No worries, there is a shuttle cart service you can catch if you are not in the mood to walk in the hot sun.  So who’s going?
