If you’re looking to earn or redeem World of Hyatt loyalty points, here’s another resort brand which will enable you to do just that.
Hyatt has added select Bahia Principe properties to its quickly growing list of resorts that will allow guests to use existing points to book as well as use their stay to further accumulate points for future Hyatt bookings. This acquisition will result in the rebranding of Bahia Principe properties–Bahia Principe Escape properties will be for adults and Bahia Principe Explore will be for families. In terms of how this will affect Riviera Maya properties, these are the new resort titles:
- Bahia Principe Grand Tulum will now be Bahia Principe Explore Tulum
- Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal will now be Bahia Principe Explore Akumal
- Bahia Principe Grand Coba will now be Bahia Principe Explore Coba
- the brand new section within the existing Coba resort, Bahia Principe Grand Tequila, will now be Bahia Principe Escape Tequila
- and the Bahia Principe Luxury Sian Ka’an will now be Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka’an
With this change in management and rebranding, accumulated Bahia Principe loyalty points from prior guest stays will not be transferred which means you are basically out of luck in using those points for any future stays.
For a very limited time, World of Hyatt loyalty members can double their resort stay points at these properties by registering their vacation dates at hyatt.com/2x-points-bahia-principe between March 24, 2026 and May 30, 2026. Only eligible registered stays completed between April 1-June 30 2026 (with the last date of stay being June 30) will qualify.
