For those of you wondering about the room categories or guest room buildings at the new Hotel Xcaret Mexico, here is a quick review of what I have discovered about them.
There are currently five guest room buildings including the following: Casa Fuego (premier adults/adults-only), Casa Tierra (premier family), Casa Espiral (adult-oriented), Casa Viento (families), and Casa Agua (premier spa and wellness). Guest room categories, in many cases, can be located in several possible buildings with the exception of the adults-only sections of Casa Agua and Casa Fuego–if the room category says adults-only oceanfront, you will definitely be in Casa Fuego. Here are the reported amenities for each building section:
Casa Fuego: This building is one of two closest to the ocean (the other is Casa Tierra) with many rooms having a full oceanfront view. Adults who want an adults-only guest building atmosphere (no pitter patter of little feet running down the hallways or shrieks early in the morning) should book here.
- 70 suites; categories within this building include regular suites, swim-up suites, jr. suites, and master suites. Jr. and Master Suites have balcony Jacuzzis. Views are river and oceanfront (there are some rooms on the north end of the building which do not have direct oceanfront views).
- has its own lobby
- has its own private gym
- access to the rooftop pool in Casa Fuego building
- access to the Fuego restaurant and rooftop cantina/bar which serves food and liquor (when I was there in Feb. 2018 the bar up there closed at 7:15 p.m.)
- pre-arrival service and concierge service for reservations (tours, spa, dinner)
- butler service (packing and unpacking if you wish) for Jr. and Master Suites
- possibility of early check-in/late check-out
- robes
- personalized aromatherapy
- domestic and international phone calls included
- Jr. and Master Suite guests receive a 50 min. Mayan massage (four night minimum stay), 90 min. body wrap treatment, and a complimentary dinner at HA´ (four night minimum). HA´ is a specialty a la carte restaurant which normally is an extra charge for non-upgraded guests. NOTE: Please confirm in advance that spa amenities are being honored–I haven’t heard anything yet about guests receiving a complimentary body wrap).
- several bottles of in-room liquor in Jr. and Master Suites
- preloaded iPad use for Jr. and Master Suite guests (I have not heard of guests receiving this amenity as of February 1, 2018)
- complimentary pressing of two items p/stay for Jr. and Master Suite guests
Casa Espiral: This “adults-oriented” building is immediately west of Casa Fuego and adjacent to the new “spiral” construction (Xpiral) with the chapel being built on the top of the spiral. Many views are of the pool and common area located in this section along with garden, river, and partial ocean view rooms. Some rooms facing the southeast side also have views of the main pool with the swim-up bar, while ground floor rooms on the southeast side have easy terrace access to the main pool.
- 250 suites; categories within this building include regular suites, swim-up suites, and Jr. Suites
- there are no special services or amenities included with this room category.
Casa Tierra: This premium family suites building is the other guest room building closest to the ocean (the other being Casa Fuego). Many suites are built facing northeast–some upper floor rooms closer to the beach have partial ocean views. While some suites have an oceanfront view, a majority of suites face either into the courtyard area of the main pool or south with vistas of the river or forests/gardens.
- 181 suites; categories within this building include swim-up suites, jr. suites, family suites, and master family suites.
- private check-in area at the regular lobby
- butler service with packing/unpacking service for Jr. and Master Family Suites
- possibility of early check-in/late check-out
- access to Las Playas restaurant and bar area with the swing seats down by the cove
- personalized aromatherapy
- robes
- domestic and international calls included
- Jr. and Master Suite guests have the following additional amenities: complimentary 60 min. babysitting services (four night minimum stay), 90 min. body wrap treatment for two adults (three night minimum stay), 50 min. Mayan massage for two adults (four night minimum stay), use of a preloaded iPad (I haven’t read this is available yet), complimentary dinner for two adults at HA´, and complimentary pressing service for two items p/stay. NOTE: Please verify with the resort whether these spa treatments are being offered.
Casa Viento: This family suites building sits back at the resort entrance and, while it is far from the beach and main pool, it is close to several restaurants, the spa, and the children’s and teen clubs. The children’s water park is also located next to this building. The only views here are garden or river view.
- 334 suites; categories within this building include suites, swim-up suites, and family master suites. Swim-up suites have easy access to the children’s water park.
- there are no special services included in this room category.
Casa Agua: This adults-only section is located adjacent to Casa Viento with easy access to the spa. The only views here are garden or river view.
- 65 regular and Jr. Suites; all balconies have a stone soaker tub (not a Jacuzzi tub)
- pre-arrival service and concierge service for reservations (tours, spa, dinner)
- butler service with packing and unpacking service offered for Jr. Suites
- unlimited access to the spa’s hydrotherapy circuit
- two 25 min. Mayan massages
- 90 min. body wrap (three night minimum stay)
- possibility of early check-in/late check-out
- welcome “mindfulness” gift
- personalized aromatherapy
- robe
- domestic and international phone calls included
- use of pre-loaded iPad
- complimentary dinner at HA´ for two adults (four night minimum stay)
- complimentary pressing service for two items p/stay
I will be staying at this resort in an oceanfront adults-only suite in Casa Fuego later this month and will post pics and video. This place looks gorgeous and I cannot wait to see it firsthand! Anyone else thinking of going or already booked?
