The Palace Resorts brand has been around for quite some time and has always been synonymous with attentive guest service and good food. Families looking for a great resort close to the action of Cancun should check out Beach Palace, part of the Palace Resorts chain of properties–check the website for “Kids Stay Free” promotions . Palace Resorts still offers “resort credits” towards specific items such as tours, spa treatments, golf, and private dinners on the beach. Guests receive $1500 worth of such credits by staying 5-8 nights; longer stays results in additional credits being awarded. (Be aware that guests who use their credits will be charged a 16% service fee towards the item–for example, if a private dinner is typically $100 and a guest chooses to use their credits to “pay” for this amenity, the guest would be charged 16% of the total amount of the service).
Beach Palace is located on the Caribbean Sea part of the “7” in the Hotel Zone. It is just several resorts north of Live Aqua (if you are familiar with that resort’s location). Beach Palace is close to La Isla shopping mall and just a short bus ride for adults wanting to party at the clubs (the resort offers babysitting for an extra fee, as do most family-friendly resorts in Cancun). The resort offers a Kid’s Club (ages 4-12), separate kid’s pool with a water slide, large beachfront pool, two pools on the 14th floor rooftop area, three swim-up bars, nightly entertainment including a beach fire show, and movie nights shown poolside.
Families with younger children may want to consider booking the Family Deluxe suite which consists of two connecting Superior Deluxe Lagoon View Suites with different in-room amenities for children. Kids receive one included pair of arm flotation devices, sand toys, kids bathroom amenities (shampoo for children), chocolate milk and juice in the mini-bar, snacks for kids, and children’s robes and slippers. While there is no standard tub to bathe small children, there is an in-room double Jacuzzi in each of the connecting suites. Kid’s rooms have two double beds while the adult’s room offers a king bed. Adult rooms have in-room liquor bottles in a cabinet by the mini-bar, a bottle of red wine, beers in the mini-bar, and adult-sized robes and slippers. This suite category only offers lagoon views.
