Ever Wonder Which El Dorado Property Is Right For You?

For those of you who don’t already know, El Dorado all-inclusive resorts are adults-only and each one has its own vibe.  As is true for all resort bookings at any property, you need to know what you’re stepping into (literally as well as knowledge of amenities) in order to have the best vacation experience.

El Dorado properties in the Yucatan Peninsula are located in the Riviera Maya in more lushly landscaped areas.  That means you will most likely be experiencing a resort that feels more like Mexico rather than the sleek lines of more contemporary resort settings that may make a vacationer feel they could easily be in the states. (The exception to this may be El Dorado Seaside Suites’ layout of guest room building floors consisting primarily of swim-up suites, but that one is still located in a lush tropical setting).

Here are the El Dorado properties in the Riviera Maya:

  • El Dorado Royale:  Adjacent to El Dorado Casitas Royale so they basically share the same property in general.  Royale guests are not allowed to use Casitas Royale amenities, but Casitas Royale guests may use Royale amenities.  If you like easier access to more fun, activities, and a food cooking show with accompanying dinner then this is the El Dorado property for you.
  • El Dorado Casitas Royale:  Shares amenities with adjacent Royale resort but with a more romantic vibe, primarily designed and marketed for couples.  A very rare amenity at this resort is the ability for most guests to swim from their swim-up suite pools to a swim-up bar, that doesn’t happen very often when it comes to swim-up rooms.
  • El Dorado Seaside Suites:  The resort layout is remarkably like Generations Riviera Maya which is a family-friendly resort.  Each guest building floor consists primarily of lengthy stretches of swim-up pools, so most rooms are swim-up suites.  Ground floor swim-up suites have direct access to the main pool and swim-up bar which offers a more lively atmosphere during the day.  Ocean swimming here is not the best, so most guests go over to the Seaside Palms to enjoy their beach area–guests can either walk over or take a shuttle to enjoy Seaside Palms amenities in general.
  • El Dorado Seaside Palms:  Seaside Palms was once voted as the most romantic resort setting in the Riviera Maya (that’s when it was called Seaside Suites many years ago).  That means it is lushly landscaped with opportunities for privacy, plus it has a two-story beachfront massage structure which is awesome for some relaxing treatments by the ocean.  Seaside Palms guests have access to Seaside Suites amenities.
  • El Dorado Maroma:  This is a smaller resort which is  divided into two sections–the regular room and suite categories and the Palafitos which are overwater bungalows each with its own small plunge pool.  Palafito guests can use the Maroma amenities, but Maroma guests cannot go on the Palafito section. Maroma Beach is one of the loveliest beaches in this part of Mexico, but with the addition of the Palafitos some of the beauty of the beach has been minimized.

Below is a video done by 2 Getaway Travel which is a travel agency located in Texas and owned by the couple doing the video.  It gives a good visual of what each property looks like and what each has to offer so that you too can make your best vacation choice if you are considering an El Dorado property in this part of Mexico.
