Vacationing in Tahiti has always been on my travel bucket list. While I’m still waiting for my opportunity to check it off my list, I don’t have to wait to enjoy an overwater bungalow–while in Mexico!
El Dorado Maroma, an adults-only Karisma property, is located approximately 40-min. south of the Cancun airport. It is a bit south of Secrets Maroma (which is set on a world famous beach) and north of Playa del Carmen, just to give you an idea of where it’s located in the Riviera Maya. El Dorado Maroma is lucky enough to be the home of 30 overwater bungalows called the Palafitos (roughly translated into “stilt houses”) which are categorized into two types: the regular Overwater Palafitos, and the Elite Overwater Palafitos. Elite Palafitos are at the very end of the pier where these structures are located and they have an unobstructed view of the Caribbean Sea with larger deck space. Palafitos guests have their own private restaurant plus full access to all El Dorado Maroma amenities. Guests can either walk a short distance from the pier to enjoy the resort amenities, or request a golf cart shuttle from their private butler.
Below is a video of the Palafitos done by Larry who owns his own travel agency in the midwest. I like Larry, he reminds me of an “old school” car salesman–I expected a Buick to drive up at any second accompanied by a full description of its merits. Much respect though, I used to work at a AAA travel agency and know how much energy travel agents put into their job to make seamless vacations happen for others.
Enjoy the video; what do you think? Would you book this suite category?
