December 2025 Trip Booked!

Thank goodness I finalized my Dec. 2025 Cancun trip, I always get a bit restless when there’s no travel plans on my calendar.

And as is so common for Libra individuals, I have completely changed my mind about my plans.  (Flexibility is a boon for a lot of things but morphing plans can be a bummer at times when projects are involved…what I end up with is often very different from my initial planning!).

So here’s the deal–the trip is for Dec. 2-10 but I have gotten into the habit of staying at multiple resorts to make the most of my vacay dates, plus I tend to get bored so I always like new surroundings.  I found a fantastic deal (way under budget for this trip) for Riu Latino which is an adults-only resort located in the Costa Mujeres area north of downtown Cancun.  For those readers who follow my resort stays, I am a Riu fan–a great bargain for fun vacations.  This property is the first Riu adults-only resort to have its own water park; it’s also supposed to have a fun silent disco so I’m definitely going to check that out.  Plus, Riu Latino guests are allowed to go to the Riu theme parties over at Riu Dunamar so that will either be the neon or the white party.  I stayed at the Dunamar many years ago when it first opened so it will be good to see if there are any changes to that property.

Next resort is kind of a surprise, even to me.  I managed to get a good deal for an upgraded room at Krystal Grand Cancun staying in an Altitude Suite Oceanfront.  I figured with the $ I saved with the Riu booking that I could afford a slightly higher priced resort and this suite looks divine. This property is located in Cancun’s Hotel Zone on an eastern-facing beach by Punta Cancun which means turquoise waters, expansive ocean views from my balcony, and a fantastic swimmable beach area.  With its location so close to Punta Cancun and the concrete jetty there are calmer waters and less rip currents.  Just what the Dr. ordered.

Just a note, make sure to clear your computer cookies between travel searches if you are going to be returning to the same resorts in order to book.  I forgot to do so and pricing went up over $400 for the same dates I had put in before for the same resort.  You will be saving yourself some $.

Below is a short video of the resort’s beach area done by Manuela Istrate Xe Ma (the taller rounder buildings behind belong to Krystal Grand Cancun; Altitude rooms are in a separate tower.  Ocean looks beautiful, I can’t wait.

If anyone is in the area or staying at this resort come say hi!  I have a feeling I will be spending quite a bit of time on the beach here…
