Looks like the Beach resort section at the Barcelo Riviera Maya mega-resort will be reopening soon. It is the last of the six resorts at this location to reopen since being closed due to COVID. Rumor has it that it will open tomorrow which is sooner than initially posted.
I don’t know if that necessarily means that the entire resort, including the on-site casino, will be open, but all the resort sections and lobbies will be available.

Me! Just booked our trip to Maya Riviera in July. We were trying to find information about what was open (hard to find info) so thank you for this information. Keep it coming 🙂
Cheryl: There are a couple of other places for you to get updated information about this resort. The first is a website called Unofficial Barcelo Maya (unofficial-barcelo-maya.com.) The forum section is a great place to ask questions and get updated answers–you just have to sign up for free and have fun (anything other than asking questions in the forum section you don’t have to sign up). Also, there is a Facebook page called Barcelo Maya Beach/Caribe/Colonial/Tropical/Palace which is great for getting updated info. There is also another fan page for the adults-only Barcelo section, Fans of Barcelo Maya Riviera. You have to ask to join these private groups on FB answer a couple of questions and they will approve you and you then can ask questions and read additional info on the resorts. Have a great trip!
