Bahia Principe Adding Adults-Only Section To Coba Resort…

Bahia Principe is spending over $133 million on renovations to various properties in 2025, and that includes adding an adults-only section to their family-friendly Bahia Principe Grand Coba  resort in Mexico’s Riviera Maya.  Grand Coba is part of a mega-resort property consisting of Bahia Principe Grand Tulum, Grand Coba, Luxury Akumal, and Luxury Sian Ka’an.  The new section is called Bahia Principe Grand Tequila.

From what I can tell, the new section will most likely be located where the Coba Lagoon Pool area was (please let us all know if this is incorrect by commenting below) and will basically divide the existing Coba resort in half.  It’s important to keep in mind that Coba resort was never beachfront, so don’t expect this adults-only section to be any nearer the beach than before.  It will open Dec. 1, 2025, and will include the following:

  • access to Grand Tulum and Grand Coba restaurants with reservation (no access to other resort’s buffets, however)
  • free WiFi
  • 2 pools
  • 2 on-site restaurants (one buffet and a Mexican restaurant)
  • 24-hr. snack bar
  • 3 on-site bars including a swim-up bar and lobby bar
  • I can only see one type of room category offered at this time (Jr. Suite Superior). Booo, what, no swim-ups??

What do you think?  Would you stay in this new section?
