Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres opened Feb. 12, 2025, and since then there have been questions about whether or not to book this luxury adults-only resort–it’s not exactly cheap and right now there are more than enough adults-only luxury resorts in the Playa Mujeres/Costa Mujeres part of Mexico from which to choose.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have not stayed at this resort–yet.  However, I have great respect for the Excellence brand and, in general, think they are slightly better than Secrets resorts as a whole.  Below is a video done by well respected vlogger, New Travel Escapes, about this resort with honest pros and cons–perhaps this info will help you make a decision about whether to invest your travel $ on this resort.
