If you are a fan of all-inclusive resorts plus a Hyatt Hotels and Resorts member, you will certainly celebrate this chain’s immersion into the all-inclusive market. While some Hyatt resorts are fully all-inclusive, resorts like the family-friendly Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen are now all-inclusive optional, meaning that when booking you can choose the all-inclusive package–simply booking this resort doesn’t automatically mean you can eat and drink without an extra charge.
Here’s what the Grand Hyatt PDC can offer on their all-inclusive plan:
- all you can eat along with select, unlimited beverages during your stay. I would imagine this is similar to some other resorts’ policies where certain beverages would be an extra charge–if you are only in the mood for Dom Perignon it will not be included in your all-inclusive optional plan. (Actually, it states on their website that champagne and “fine spirits” will have an extra charge–if you want a special top-shelf liquor you may want to ask whether it is included in your AI optional plan).
- Dining is included at La Cocina, Sushi ‘n Raw Bar, and The Grill.
- Room service from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Only one hour at the Kid’s Club p/room p/stay. That IS certainly different than other all-inclusive optional resorts and is pretty restrictive.
- Ping pong and board games are complimentary over at the Teen Arcade.
- complimentary use of bicycles
- valet parking for one car p/room
- complimentary one day access to the hydrotherapy circuit at the spa
- 25% off spa treatments
Grand Hyatt PDC offers 314 rooms and suites, sits right on the beach, and is easy walking distance to Playa del Carmen’s famous 5th Avenue. It also offers a day club called Coralina Beach Club/Daylight Club which operates from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (except on Mondays, I believe), so expect loud music if you have a room on the north side of the resort by the beach. You have to book your tickets separately, access to this beach club is not included in your stay. Here’s a quick video to highlight what the general atmosphere is like…ahhh, to be young again.
Here’s a video reviewing what the overall property is like. What do you think? Would you stay here?
