No, I didn’t already recently post about this AI-optional resort–that was the Krystal Cancun. This is its family-friendly “sister resort” right next door to the north and it’s called Krystal Grand Punta Cancun. It has also been known in the past as Reflect, while some third party wholesalers may currently list this resort as Krystal Grand Cancun, or even “Altitude By Krystal Grand Punta Cancun” which refers to certain upgraded room types (Altitude rooms). It’s all the same resort, but it can be confusing.
The resort is comprised of 398 guest rooms in two circular towers along with four pools, access to five restaurants (one Mexican a la carte is within walking distance), multiple bars including a beach bar, a gym, spa, Kid’s Club, and games room for age 10+ (kids age 10-12 must be accompanied by an adult). One tower is for non-upgraded resort guests, the other is the Altitude Tower for upgraded guests. Altitude does NOT mean all-inclusive; it means you get access to a private lounge with its own bar and food area (continental breakfast and snacks throughout the day including sushi after 5 p.m.), access to breakfast in the Altitude lobby area, access to the beachfront infinity pool, and one day use of a cabana which can be either on the beach or poolside. If you want to get everything this resort has to offer you must book both the Altitude upgrade and an all-inclusive package when you book your room.
Be aware that even the all-inclusive package doesn’t get you EVERYTHING–room service has a delivery fee (I think it’s $7), and some mini-bar items like snacks used to be an extra charge, I’m not sure if they still are. Ask before you consume anything in the room just to be on the safe side.
This resort is located right next to the man-made concrete and stone “pier” on the Hotel Zone’s point (the top of the “7”) which serves as a break for waves, so this area is perfect for swimming or snorkeling. You can also walk to Cancun’s famous clubs in five minutes.
If you want a very cool room, check out the Altitude Master Suite Oceanfront–lots of interior space plus a balcony Jacuzzi with a great view.
Have you ever visited this resort or planning on going? What do you think?
