I am going on vacation in a few days!  And to my favorite place–where else, Mexico.  Namely, staying in the Riviera Maya at two resorts which are part of the same Iberostar megaresort complex at Playa Paraiso.  I will be traveling with a family member I haven’t traveled with before so I am excited about a new experience.

My first stop will be at Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites, a family-friendly resort with lots of fun things to do plus a snake bar in the lobby which I am dying to check out along with the resort’s swim-up bar behind a waterfall.  While I will definitely try the lazy river and wave pool, I probably will pass on the waterslides–I don’t want to wind up in a Mexican hospital because I listened to my younger more exuberant self while my older body is the one taking the hits.

My second stop will be right next door at JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar, a luxury adults-only resort that offers beautiful architecture and decor, a saltwater main pool, and free cabanas.  I get butler service at this one with my oceanfront room, so I am definitely going to take advantage of that amenity!
