I just posted yesterday about the very popular Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres.  The video didn’t seem to cover the speakeasy nightclub onsite, so I did some hunting and found this video which highlights what that experience is all about so that you can make an informed choice as to whether or not you want to spend your time and energy making a reservation and attending.

The speakeasy looks more like an “experience” with scheduled talks, entertainment, and curious looking pre-planned drinks made by multiple mixologists practicing their craft on cue. There doesn’t appear to be any music other than opera-style singing and trumpet playing and certainly no dancing.  So if you are looking for an experience which is more commensurate with prohibition-style clubs from the 1920-1930’s you won’t find it here.  If you are looking for danceable music, actual dancing opportunities, a great bar atmosphere, and a difficult to find location without knowing a password I would suggest you stay at Hotel Xcaret Arte and check out their speakeasy.  Another possibility would be the speakeasy at Secrets Moxche but you’d have to know the daily password there.
