I recently posted two separate articles on “the best of” adults-only and family-friendly resorts that I have actual experience with–if interested, head back a few older posts and you will find them.

It’s always a good idea to get others’ opinions about their favorites, and below is a video done by a vlogger I respect, New Travel Escapes.  They go over their favorites in several different categories–best overall, best value, best beach, best luxury feel, and most romantic.  To be quite honest I was shocked at their honorable mention–Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya has had a stellar reputation with many repeat visitors and is my daughter and her husband’s favorite resort, but I guess any resort can develop a problem with bed bugs.  To be fair, this problem occurred three years ago and there have not been recent reports of similar incidents, so don’t be afraid to book this resort, it is beautiful and especially appealing to those who like a Spanish Colonial look/ architecture–many resorts in Mexico can look like you are still in America, but this one definitely gives the vibe of “you are in Mexico”…
