For those of you familiar with the Excellence Collection resort brand, you may already be aware of the new luxury family-friendly property, Finest Riviera Cancun, set to open Feb. 11, 2027.  It’s located south of Puerto Morelos next to Dreams Jade–not a stellar stretch of beach but close to El Cid’s Marina for those of you who enjoy easy access to sports fishing opportunities and other water-related excursions. I stayed at Finest Playa Mujeres when it first opened (click here to see my resort review) and quickly discovered just how easily the Excellence brand sits towards the top of all-inclusive resorts based on the quality of their amenities as well as how their Finest resorts offers adults-only sections that truly feel like an adults-only resort stay.

Here are some initial stats about this property:

• Adults-only and family sections
• 3 pools (minus the swim-up pool sections)
• Elevated swim-up suite pools located on the second floor so you get better views
• 2 water parks including waterslides for teens
• Arcade room has modern tech “toys” including sports simulators and a mocktail bar
• Dedicated pickleball courts
• 3 child care facilities located at various areas around the resort for easy guest access
• 12 restaurants plus a couple of taco stations
• 15 bars

Not bad stats at this point; of course, things can always change between now and Feb. 2027.

This property is available for bookings and looks like a good option for my annual spring trip to Cancun.  Be aware that many resorts don’t open new resorts on time, so if you make your reservation about a month in it should be fine.  Making a reservation after 3 months of being open often makes it possible to enjoy all resort amenities and well as skip any initial “bugs” in the system of daily operation.
