Travel and Leisure posted the top 25 readers’ favorite Mexico resorts for 2025 and several Cancun and Riviera Maya resorts were on the list!
Here they are:
- La Casa de la Playa was voted #1. This resort is located in the Riviera Maya just south of Playa del Carmen and is part of the Hotels Xcaret family. Last time I checked, rooms started at $1,200 p/night for two adults, but it’s supposed to have the best food at an all-inclusive resort plus the rooms are beautiful. When I stayed at Hotel Xcaret Arte last year I had to take a quick shuttle ride over to La Casa de la Playa to catch the catamaran ride from their harbor area. Even catching outdoor glimpses of the resort was jaw dropping.
- Hotel Xcaret Mexico was voted #4. Again, another resort in the Hotels Xcaret family. I stayed at this resort when it first opened and it still remains one of my top three all-inclusive resorts. They just finished an expansive renovation and I hope to return next spring to check out all the wonderful changes.
- Hotel Xcaret Arte was voted #9. Notice a pattern here of vacationer’s choices? I stayed here last year and there is beauty everywhere–there is art all over the property plus the food is excellent.
- Fairmont Mayakoba was voted #17. Fairmont Mayakoba now has an optional all-inclusive meal program and has always had a stellar reputation. This resort is located in the Riviera Maya.
- Hilton Cancun was voted #19. This one is kind of surprising since the resort doesn’t appear to have anything particularly noteworthy about it plus it’s not located on a stellar stretch of beach either. I will have to check this one out to see what the buzz is all about. This one is located in the northern part of the Riviera Maya.
- Secrets Maroma was voted #20. No surprise here with the exception of why only #20 and not higher…This resort is located north of Playa del Carmen and is extremely popular with adult vacationers, particularly those celebrating an anniversary or honeymoon. Maroma Beach has been voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
- Le Blanc Spa Resort was voted #23. Always a favorite for adult vacationers looking for a great spa experience at an all-inclusive resort on a great beach. Just be aware that this resort is part of the Palace resort family and is big on favoring timeshare guests over non-timeshare guests. You may have to give up being able to choose prime poolside loungers until after 10:30 a.m. because staff has been saving them for those who have already invested. This resort is located in Cancun’s Hotel Zone on an eastern-facing beach. Ocean water is lovely to look at with all the turquoise hues, but so many red-flagged beach days, you may not be able to actually get into the water.
