Want to Know More About Xavage Park?

Xavage Park was one of the Riviera Maya’s last parks to open in 2021 (it opened in 2019, but COVID shut all parks/ruins for awhile due to COVID).  If you haven’t gone yet (like myself), it’s supposed to be an adventure park with various rides and experiences for vacation fun and getting exercise while having fun.  If the word “exercise” hasn’t yet put you off, read on…

If you’ve gone to Xplor Park, it has some similarities, but it actually is a compilation of existing Grupo Xcaret park adventures plus a few surprises.  For example, Xavage Park has a man-made white water rapids course which is supposed to be equivalent to Class 3-4 rapids.  I’ve been white water rafting in Idaho’s Payette River in Class 3-4 rapids and while it’s a heck of a lot of fun, there are some scary moments.  In the video I’ve posted below, one of the passengers gets bumped off the raft, but that is certainly a possibility one faces in that Class of rapids.  If these rafts are anything like other white water rafts, you’ve got to tuck your toes/as much of your feet as possible under the seat in front of you to avoid being ousted–don’t expect handles anywhere on the raft since you will be holding and using a paddle.

The high speed boat looks like a wild ride and I would definitely check out going 50 mph and making sudden turns; however, I don’t think my neck vertebrae could take the jarring impact of the “monster truck” course.  The glide ride, in my opinion, looks rather uninspiring so I’d probably skip that as well.  There are various levels to the ropes course so I’d be happy to start out at the beginner level…I’ve never been stellar at obstacle courses.

There are two possible types of admission to this park–basic and all-inclusive.  While food and drink are supposed to be included in both types of tickets, only canoeing, the ropes course, and the kids water park area are included in the basic ticket package.  All-inclusive prices are listed at $149 p/adult, but you can buy them from the park’s website for around $135.  Better yet, stay at one of Grupo Xcaret’s hotels (Hotel Xcaret Mexico, Hotel Xcaret Arte, and La Casa de la Playa) and you can get in free with the resort’s All-Fun Inclusive concept.

Take a few moments to view the video I’ve posted below…it’s in Spanish but what I like about it is that he has video clips of what being on the rides is like.
