Waiting Too Long For My Book On All-Inclusive Resorts???

Those of you who have followed my blog for awhile know that I have been working on a book on all-inclusive resorts (and answering questions about all-inclusive travel) in Cancun and the Riviera Maya for quite some time now.  If you’ve been impatient waiting for the book to materialize, so am I, lol.

I have found that submitting most documents on travel (when it comes to books) can be quite different than other kinds of writing–publishers and agents alike want to read a majority of what you have to offer rather than a chapter, an outline, and a letter of inquiry.  So now I am at that point and trying not to become apprehensive or think negatively about the outcome…which is interesting because I work with individuals on how to think more positively about their lives so I thought I would focus on incorporating concepts with which I try to help others.

Has anyone read about or practiced “scripting”?  Scripting is an interesting concept in that it focuses on writing about something you really want as if it has ALREADY happened and is part of your past, not as if it WILL happen in the future.  Scripting also incorporates one’s FEELINGS about obtaining your heart’s desire as well as gratitude for having already achieved it which is very different than merely thinking you will get something in the future and leaving one’s emotions out of that event.   “I am so thankful for getting my publishing contract with (fill in the blank), I am the happiest I’ve ever felt and appreciate the added income I have received from doing (fill in the blank).

I’m definitely going to try this out concerning my manuscript, scripting every day “has thankfully been just what the Dr. ordered given how happy I’ve become”, lol.

You too can try it on the vacations you want to take but keep postponing, or the vacations you’ve been wanting to take but think you will never take.  For example, I’ve wanted to stay at La Casa de la Playa resort for quite a long time but believe I never will because it is so scarily expensive…I can write about it this way using the scripting method as just one example:  “I’m so happy and grateful that I stayed at La Casa de la Playa, it was one of the most joyous and relaxing vacations I’ve ever taken, so many opportunities I had to connect with (fill in travel partner’s name) as well as sleep, listen to the ocean, eat fantastic food, and rejuvenate myself.  I’m so grateful for having made the decision to save up money over time to be able to afford my wonderful stay, it was one of the best vacation choices I’ve ever made.”

So, what do you think?
