I just saw a post on Instagram stating that Secrets Playa Mujeres opened for business again on Jan. 2, 2026 after a very lengthy renovation where the resort has been fully closed since April 15, 2025. Here is a short list of what’s been renovated:
- Rooms fully redone
- Common spaces redone
- Pool areas redone
- Preferred Club spaces redone
- Private beach club added for Preferred Club guests
- New “Amazonian themed” restaurant (Bordeaux restaurant being turned into this restaurant)
- Redesigned Portofino restaurant
- Redesigned Desires Nightclub
- Redesigned lobby bar
- Fully renovated spa (the spa is not open yet but is supposed to open mid Feb. 2026)
So, who’s planning on going and seeing their renovations?
We have been going there for years and are excited to see all the new changes. We arrive on January 31st.
