Also, here is a brief list of the reported changes occurring at the resort:

• pretty much everything at the resort is redesigned and refurbished including the main building
• two new poolside buildings (if it’s anything like Riu Palace Mexico one will most likely be the bar area while the other will be the poolside lunch area) and three new infinity pools
• guest rooms completely re-done with shower-only and double sinks
• tennis courts are gone
• new kid’s pool with slides
• kid’s club is re-designed
• new Plaza area with new Plaza bar
• new Italian restaurant substituting for the Mexican restaurant
• a la cartes include Asian, Italian, and grill/steakhouse
• new Wellness Center and fitness room at the resort
