I ran across this video when searching for cenote ideas for my vacation coming up in March.  This is the first time I’ve ever read about a private cenote you can rent just for your vacation party.  That means no lines to get in, no other cenote visitors vying for space, it’s all yours to enjoy!!  It’s called Cenote Elvira and it’s located on Ruta de los Cenotes road by Puerto Morelos.

Here is a short list of what this cenote has to offer:

• you can access the cenote either via stairs to water level; it looks like you may be able to jump in from a higher point
• there are various spaces to relax
• life jackets are provided
• a bar area is provided (but you have to bring in any food or drinks)
• a grill and briquets are provided, bring something to BBQ if you want

You have to pay $125 USD for five people; pay an additional $25 USD for each guest if you have more in your party.  I looked on Google maps and it looks like this cenote is located off the main Ruta de los Cenotes road past Selvatica park.  You can reserve your spot at cenote.elvira.reservations@gmail.com
