My last blog post was about the differences between the five resorts at the Iberostar Paraiso resort complex–this post is about the shopping area adjacent to the golf course across the road from the different resorts. All resorts at this complex have access to this shopping area, you just have to decide whether you want to walk to it or take a golf cart shuttle from your resort to the entrance of the mall.
The mall is primarily a shopping area during the day but picks up steam during the evening and becomes a more busy place to be. The major things that most guests want to see/experience at this area are the following:
- Merry-go-round. This is open in the evenings, so if you’re going over there to take a slow spin or two best to go at the end of the day.
- Pharmacy. If you get sick and see a Dr. at the resort, you can easily visit the pharmacy and get a prescription filled.
- Disco. Want some late evening fun? Check out the disco and get your dance groove on.
- Popular places to eat. The two most popular places to eat at Plaza Paraiso are the taco shop and the crepe shop. There is also a coffee shop and a cantina if you want a drink.
- Spa. The resort complex’s spa is located here.
- Chapel. There is a small chapel located at the mall as well.
- Lots of various places to buy personal apparel or gifts/souvenirs.
The video below is an older one highlighting the things to see and do at the mall. The only amenity not currently available is the casino; resort casinos in this part of Mexico have always been “iffy”–a cycle of being open and then suddenly closed.
Keep in mind that this video was taken in 2018 and some venues may now be closed (besides the casino) or some new ones may have taken another’s place. Take a look and see what you think–would you take some of your vacation time and visit this area of the resort?
