I thought a great deal about whether or not I should add this swim-up Jr. Suite at Wyndham Alltra Cancun to my “best of” series and finally decided to highlight it since it has such awesome oceanfront views. The official name of the suite is the Jr. Suite One King Bed, Beachfront Infinity Swim-Up. Here’s the good and not so good features of this swim-up…
Let’s start with the good!
- Located right on the beach.
- There is some elevation to the swim-up pool in order to maximize the ocean views. So disappointing to get a beachfront swim-up and have your view obstructed by beach cabanas.
- Room capacity of 4 with a king bed and sleeper sofa.
- While the sink area is exposed to the rest of the room, the toilet and shower area has a door for privacy.
- free high-speed WiFi
Here’s the not so good:
- The room is only 387 sq. feet. Not what I would consider a typical Jr. Suite.
- I would not put 4 people in this room, it is too small to do that unless you want to be fighting over the bathroom all the time.
- No terrace privacy. It’s right on the beach and guests staying in rooms above have a full-on view of the swim-up pool.
Beachfront swim-ups are rare in this area of Mexico, so this Hotel Zone resort is a great option with this type of room category.
I found a short video of the room when it was still Panama Jacks; it was taken over by Wyndham and opened in 2021 as the new Alltra alternative Wyndham now offers. This resort is family-friendly and is about a 25-min. drive north of the Cancun airport near the Hotel Zone’s party zone (approximately 1.5 miles south of Coco Bongo).
